Humanitarian relief · Gaza and Egypt
Food, water and shelter for families displaced in Gaza.
Motaz Foundation turns donations into things a family can hold: food parcels, clean water, tents, tarpaulins and blankets. It was founded by the Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza, and it documents every delivery it makes.

What a donation pays for
These are the five things the foundation buys and delivers to families.
Food parcels
Staples packed and handed to families directly.
Clean water
Water trucked into areas without a working supply.
Tents
Shelter for families who have lost their homes.
Tarpaulins
Cover for tents and damaged shelters before the rain.
Blankets
Winter provision for displaced families.
How we work
Three practices sit behind every figure on this page.
Buy and deliver
The foundation buys supplies and delivers them to families.
Record every delivery
Each delivery is logged with the date, the place, the households reached, the cost and a photograph.
Check against the bank
Money in is counted from the bank statements, twelve months in a row with none missing, not from estimates.
Motaz Azaiza spent 108 days documenting the war in Gaza before he was evacuated in January 2024. The foundation carries that work from the camera to the people in front of it.
